Why did I create my blog “365 things that I love about France”?
One: I wanted to challenge myself to find something positive in my life every single day for one entire year.
Two: I love living in France.
France has given me and my family so much. I decided it was time to give back.
Every day for one year, I am going to put some positive energy out into the world by sharing my positive personal observations of this beautiful country and its kind and generous people.

There are so many incredible French actors an actresses. How can one credibly declare, "This is my favorite French actor!" This week's cinematic pick, Romain Duris, is high on my list of favorites, if not my favorite. "Oh!" Quick snap of my hand to my mouth that forms a cheeky moue. "I did it, I declared a favorite actor." Many of his films have received the highest awards. He has been nominated 3 times for best actor in the Cesar Awards (French equivalent to Oscar) and has won best actor twice in the Lumiere Awards and once in Etoiles d'Or.
He has done so many good films, I cannot list them all here, so have a look on the link below to imdb.com
The intense, captivating The Beat That My Heart Skipped. Nominated for best actor Cesar Awards and European Awards, won best actor Lumiere Awards and Etoiles d'Or.
Romain Duris often works with director Cedric Klapisch. They collaborated on the quirky, surrealistic, sci fi film Peut-etre, in English, Maybe. It also features Jena-Paul Belmondo. I couldn't find a trailer with English sub titles as it is from 1999. It is a good film, you need to be in the right mood and patient, well worth tracking it down.
All you Anglophones have his latest film Heartbreakers in the theaters. Go and see it! It is just great; a happy, really funny, romantic comedy also starring Vanessa Paradis.
